On Monday 11th September 2000 I was back at the Guildhall arts centre again to see two new bands, BENN and LOWGOLD.

BENN were the first band to come on stage, and I thought the band were excellent, so much so that during the interval I bought their Demo CD which features the songs:-

COMING DOWN
BABY BLUE
SHADOW OF THE SUN
LASERHEAD
ONCE 4 HEVER
THE RISK
KING OF THE UNDERWORLD
WATER'S EDGE
I BREATHE YOUR NAME
SURRENDER

All of which are written by Ben Williams and many of these songs were performed on the night.

Then after the interval the main performers of the night, LOWGOLD, came on stage and performed the following tracks:-

MERCURY
IN AMBER
CAN'T SAY NO
OPEN UP THE AIRWAVES
OUT OF REACH
BEAUTY DIES YOUNG
COUNTERFEIT
NEVER ALONE

with the encore being
BACK HERE AGAIN

Although I enjoyed "OPEN UP THE AIRWAVES" and "BEAUTY DIES YOUNG", on the whole I actually thought the performance by BENN was better.
